Curriculum Vitae:
Dr. Jacqueline Tamis-Holland is a Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Director of the Mount Sinai Morningside-Bronx Care Cardiology Fellowship Training Program as well as Associate Director of the Mount Sinai Morningside Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
A graduate of New York University School of Medicine, Dr. Tamis-Holland completed her Internal Medicine training at NYU School of Medicine and her Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship training at Saint Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and Columbia University.
After her fellowship training Dr. Tamis-Holland joined the cardiology staff of St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital (now Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West) where she served as Site Director of the Roosevelt Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Associate Director of the Mount Sinai Saint Luke’s Cardiac Catheterization laboratory before assuming her current position.
Dr. Tamis-Holland is a member of the American College of Cardiology-American Heart Association’s Joint Committee for Clinical Practice Guidelines and a member of the New York State Cardiac Advisory Committee.
She is Vice Chair of the writing committee for the American College of Cardiology-American Heart Association’s Guidelines for Coronary Revascularization and on the editorial board for Circulation Cardiovascular Intervention and the Journal of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. She is immediate past chair of the Academic Council of the American College of Cardiology and the Interventional Cardiovascular Care Committee of the Council on Clinical Cardiology for the American Heart Association.
Dr Tamis Holland was on the rating panel for the 2016 Appropriate Use Criteria for Coronary Revascularization in Acute Coronary Syndromes and the 2017 Appropriate Use Criteria for Stable Ischemic Heart Disease as well as the 2022 Appropriate Use Criteria for Multimodality Imaging in Coronary Artery Disease.
Dr Tamis-Holland’s clinical and research interests focus on the treatment of patients with Acute ST Elevation Infarction. She is co-author of the 2013 American College of Cardiology-American Heart Association’s Guidelines for ST Segment Elevation Infarction and the 2015 Focused Update for PCI in ST Segment Elevation Infarction. She also worked on the executive committee for the Mission Lifeline STEMI Accelerator Program in NYC focusing on improving systems of care for patients with STEMI in New York City. Her work led to the creation of protocols providing an integrated relationship between the NYC EMS and the cardiac catheterization laboratories in the NYC PCI hospitals.
Dr Tamis-Holland is nationally and internationally known for her work in treating patients with STEMI and acute coronary syndromes and has lectured extensively at national and international meetings.
She has over 100 peer-reviewed medical articles, book chapters and medical editorials, some of which are considered seminal contributions to the fields of Cardiology.
Dr Tamis Holland is a devoted teacher, educator and volunteer. She is the proud recipient of the “Michael Lesch Teaching Award in Cardiology”, as well as the American Heart Association’s “Luminary with Heart” award and the American Heart Association’s “Heart of Our Mission” award.
